I returned this chair, and ordered the same chair but in the larger size. Very sturdy. It's pretty comfortable and gives some back support. Makes a big difference when you're sitting on bleachers for hours watching a event. It is a bit heavy to carry around for long, but sure beats a aching back!I bought 3 to use as kayak seats on Origami Paddlers. Perfect fit and took the boats from no way because of the terrible back pain from their seats to WONDERFUL because of these stadium seats! Very comfortable. My daughter and I go to the NHRA national event every year went it comes to the St. Louis area. As most people know, bleacher seating is far from comfortable. We saw these seats last year, people had rented them at the track.I got two of them for this year and we used them for the first time this past weekend. What a difference! Our seats are in the last row at the top of the bleachers next to the tower with no one behind us. This is a good thing because they extend past the back of the bench. The seat is very comfortable and the back support is amazing. The weather here last weekend was chilly and windy. We were bundled up in blankets and didn't leave our seats for hours at a time and, other than the weather, we were comfortable through the day.Worth every penny. I wish I'd found these years ago. These are great chairs for sports fans who spend a lot of time in the bleachers. The chairs are sturdy and support your back well. The fabric has enough "give" to be comfortable, but is strong enough to provide support. The fabric seat is actually suspended above the base of the chair, and because there are no arms, it accommodates people of various sizes. One of the 2 chairs we purchased had its seat collapse, and we found that the thick cords that are strung beneath the chair had come untied. It was fairly easy to retie and the seat was fine after that. They are a bit heavy because of their sturdy construction, so be aware if you have to carry them a long distance. Other reviewers had great ideas about tying the two chairs together, rigging them to something slung over their back, etc. to carry long distances. Still, they are manageable, and they fold up nice for storage. They have a little lever on the bottom that you can swing out to "lock" onto a bleacher. That might work for thin metal bleachers, but we have yet to be able to fit that locking lever onto any of the thick plastic basketball bleachers we sit in. It doesn't seem to be a problem, though, as the chairs don't slide around anyway. Depending on the shape of the bleachers we have had to position the chair a little forward or a little backward to make it feel stable and not rock when we sit back in it, but all in all the seats are great. They've vastly improved our comfort at ballgames. These chairs are very well made, they are much more solid than any other Stadium Chairs I have seen at sporting goods stores. Of course, because of this, they are slightly heavier than the poorly built chairs. Given that I am not generally carrying the chairs for a prolonged period of time I prefer them to be solidly built and these are just the ticket! The combination of the full length rubber strip on the bottom of the chair and hook to attach them to the bleacher make these chairs not slide around and not tip over backwards. My wife questioned my decision to purchase these originally due to the slightly higher cost, but after having sat in these for some very long games and having used several friends chairs previously she is definitely pleased with the purchase! Now, our friends who have the lesser quality chairs are all wanting to sit in ours and several have even ordered their own! Some of the reviews did mention these chair aren't very wide, and I can say I see where they are coming from. If I were to do it again, I would probably purchase the wider ones just so others who are slightly larger than I (6' and 200 lbs) would be more comfortable when they borrow them. :)Overall, a great chair that is well built and properly designed! We've had these chairs for three plus years, have two different sizes and have used them off and on throughout.I like the fact that we were able to take the back off and have some embroidery done.Overall they are sturdy save for what appears to be weak spring action in the back that I have been fearful will fail. The back is supported by two small tab of spring steel and it makes me nervous. It has not failed as of yet so all is well. These are the most comfortable seats while watching sports games on hard bleachers. I also sit for hours at rodeo's and this make it an easy day. My husband got one too after seeing how I was so much more comfortable than he was sitting on bleachers for two to six hours. The chairs do not take up extra room for people who sit behind as they do not lean backwards like other chairs. They don't hang over the back of the bleachers either taking up more space for other people legs. The back is not wide and those behind can straddle it just like if you were sitting in front of them without a seat. I have now talked four other friends in buying these seats after they tried mine. The price is great for the product too! That is actually the selling point to the chairs as they believe it would be too costly to afford. I have also purchased two for gifts too. They were a big hit.
