This was a gift so I haven't used the game. It looks fun.Fun game for all ages.My “Squirrelly Scrappers” scrapbook group get together for retreats. This will be fun to play.The directions seemed super confusing the first time I looked at them. I played a few rounds pretending to be 3 people, and finally got it. I recommend trying out before teaching this game to people (but that could just be me!).I expect to have a lot of fun with this because it's a bit chaotic--you might think your turn is next but it can stolen quickly and many times. Each hand ends once the Winter card is drawn, so a hand could last 2 minutes or 10. The only strategy is how and when to store nuts for scoring, otherwise it's the luck of the draw or how quickly you can act. Seems better for 3 or more players.I gave this game as a gift to my nieces and we all have had the chance to play it. It was fun and easy and seemed to be a hit. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 rating was that the first set I received had a cosmetic manufacturing defect on some of the cards. The defect was only for a certain value of cards, so it was not possible to play this randomly as you knew and could tell when those certain value cards were on the draw pile. My brother contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement which had no defects. Just something to be aware of.This is a fun game for young and old. You collect acorn cards to get points, there are other cards which allow you to take a card from another player or have a war, watch for the hoard card, the first to slap the cards gets the whole pile. I shared this game with my game groups and it was a hit. Fun for kids and adults, easy to learn, I had to buy another set because we have played it so much.My family loves this games! I purchase one or two new games every Christmas. I purchased S’Quarrels over 5 years ago and it is still one of my family’s favorite “go to” games. We have all given it to 4+ other friends and families as a gift. I promise you’ll love it. You might even go nuts!This is a fun game, once you get the hang of it. The directions are pretty complex, so don't expect to have kids play this independently right off. It reminds me a little of Phase 10 - also a really tricky card game to understand in the beginning, but gets really fun when you get the hang of it. Basically, you are trying to "hoard" as many "nuts" (number cards) as you can. There are action cards that you need to follow too - some direct you to have a battle, like in the game of War, others direct you to give away or take cards from other players. Once you understand what each of the action cards are for, it's fun. Just keep those directions handy for your first several games!
